![]() Reportedly, singer Sevyn Streeter was denied the ability to perform last night at the Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder game after she arrived with a “We Matter” jersey on. The singer recorded a video stating that the decision came from the 76er’s organization at the last minute. She’d been booked to sing the national anthem at the game. However, it’s a bit ironic that she planned to sing the national anthem, ignoring the protest of the song by Colin Kaepernick only to be told she can’t perform for the same reason he refuses to stand for the song. Another ironic aspect is that this occurred the week after NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced that players are expected to stand for the national anthem. It seems that all NBA players have followed suit.
