![]() In case you missed the American Country Music Awards last night, we have some highlights and winners for you. Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert appeared to be the bells of the musical ball in the awards categories. Bryan took home the entertainer of the year award chosen by fan votes. The competition was stiff in this category with nominees such as Jason Aldean and Garth Brooks. Miranda Lambert was also up for this awards, but the loss only equaled greater successes, as she won female vocalist of the year, song of the year, and album of the year. She seemed mystified and amazed by all the wins. Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan hosted the star-studded event in Arlington, TX for the 50th anniversary of the program. It was the most attended award show of all time, according to CBS News. Other featured artists and honorees at the event were Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire, and Brooks & Dunn. They were each recognized for a Milestone Award during the festivities. Taylor Swift’s mom presented her with the honor in a tearful exchange. The performances kept the show moving. Florida Georgia Line performed “Sippin on Fire”, while Christina Aguilera made an appearance with Rascal Flatts to sing, “Shotgun”. Nick Jonas added a different musical connotation to the awards by accompanying Dan + Shay in their performance. The event ended with a hearty rendition of the classic, “Let the Good Times Roll”, by Jake Owen and Darius Rucker. Comments are closed.
