The NCCA stumbled upon major infractions during an investigation into Syracuse University’s basketball program. Their findings have the athletic program in hot water, with Coach Jim Boeheim being suspended for nine games. Oddly enough, the allegations were reported by the university to the NCAA for a collection of actions from as far back at 2001.
Some of the offenses include, but are not limited to: academic tampering, benefit obscurities, and violations of the drug testing policy held by the NCAA. There were also questionable booster activities.
The additional consequences of the program’s contraventions are comprised of a five year probation period and numerous wins revoked from the years 2004-2012 if unauthorized players took part in the wins. The team will also be ineligible to compete in any post season games during this term. Let us know what you think with our poll below!
