Was this a game or a small massacre? After all the exhilaration and fervor in the climax of the Brooklyn vs. Toronto game earlier today, we all thought the next and last Game 7 between the Mavs and the Spurs would be just as exciting. We had no such luck.
From the very start of the game, the drive of the Mavericks looked bleak, as Monte Ellis only accumulated 5-points the entire first half of game play. On the other side of the Texas plains, Tony Parker had a break out game scoring 32-points, while the Mavs sashayed into the playoffs with a 119-96 victory over the Mavs. Although Parker held his own, it seemed as the game went on, none of the Spurs could miss. Manu Ginobili scored 20-points and Danny Green added 16. The veteran, Tim Duncan, supplied 15-points to help seal this victorious deal.
The most influential players for the Mavs throughout their playoff run were Monte Ellis, Vince Carter, Devin Harris, and DeJuan Blair. Without these key players, the fight may have been over before it even began.
San Antonio will now be preparing to square off against the fiery Portland Trailblazers. How will their wisdom and experience match up against the vernal Trailblazers? Will they have time to re-cooperate from a tireless series? Only time will tell. Let us know what you think! All comments are welcome!
