“I’m the best player in the draft.” This is what Jameis Winston stated to an ESPN representative recently after she asked a routine interview question. Why should the Buccaneers chose Winston? This was the gist of her inquiry to Winston. There are a ton of other promising prospects in the NFL draft. Yet, he threw all caution to the wind with this statement and left us asking: conceited much?
Still, Winston’s play may just back up his contentions. He can be seen on film making an elongated pass that we're not sure many could complete. The Buccaneers general manager stated this after watching his play: “He had a great day. He threw a full nine innings. He showed his arm strength from Throw 1 to Throw 100 or whatever it was.” To say he was impressed appears to be an understatement.
For this reason, it seems that the fiascos of the past in Winston’s personal like are being forgotten by sheer talent. As many look to him for football greatness, the only thing that can really stop him at this point is himself.
