We won’t pull a Skip Bayless with our discussions of LeBron James here. Nevertheless, the familiar concept of free-throws win ball games reigned clear Sunday in the Cavalier’s overtime battle with the Rockets. The Cavs lost 105-103 after James headed to the free-throw line and returned with a goose egg. This contributed to the startling statistic of 3-11 free throws made throughout the entire game. According to ESPN, it’s one of the worst stats of LeBron's career.
The most disheartening misses occurred when the Cavs were down by one point and James missed 2 free throws. Even completing one shot successfully would have sufficed. Still, a bad night for LeBron James, made it an excellent night for James Harden. He walked away from the victory with 33 points.
One thing you can’t blame the Cav’s loss on is lack of effort or being shy about shooting the basketball. They attempted a total of 40 three pointers Sunday night. At least they tried right?
