Great jobs news came in today from Boeing in Huntsville.
The company announced plans to hire 400 new people at its organization. The jobs will impact more than 2,500 job positions in the country and add to the 2700 already employed in the state of Alabama at Boeing.
According to Fox 6 news, 1,600 positions will be located in Los Angeles County, California; 500 in St. Louis; and 400 in Huntsville.
The Birmingham school system will be hosting a job fair this Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Lincoln Center at 901 Ninth Ave. North in Birmingham for elementary school teachers, secondary science teachers, prekindergarten teachers, prekindergarten assistants, librarians, culinary arts teachers, engineering teachers, health science teachers, special education teachers, custodians, bookkeepers, secretaries, clerical assistants, lunchroom workers and bus drivers.
To apply or interview for bus driver positions, the candidate must be at least 25-years-old and have a clean driving record.

HealthSouth broke ground on its new headquarters at 9001 Liberty Parkway in Birmingham this week.
The 200,000-square-foot building will accommodate HealthSouth’s 518 current employees. The campus will include an outdoor patio and walking trails, cafeteria, fitness center and large meeting spaces. HealthSouth hopes that future growth will allow up to 660 employees at the facility.
The new office is expected to open in spring 2018 and will handle operational support for a network of 123 physical inpatient rehabilitation hospitals located in 34 states and Puerto Rico.
The company has been based in Birmingham since it began in 1984.
