Tragedy struck early Wednesday morning as a helicopter went down carrying 11 U.S. military members. Officials believe that the helicopter nosed dived into water off the Florida panhandle Tuesday night. In the early hours of the evening, the plane was reported missing after taking part in a routine training mission. The crew that went down was originally from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. One helicopter from their battalion arrived successfully, while the other did not. The 7 Marines and 4 aircraft crew members are now assumed dead after debris from the helicopter was found this morning. Debris washed up between the banks of northern Florida and a correlated island leading to this presumption. The names of those involved in the crash have not been broadcast at this time.
