![]() Winter, winter go away, come again another year maybe? If you live in the South, you've been singing this same song after being bombarded with winter advisory after winter advisory over the past 2 weeks. Unfortunately, don’t expect a stop in that trend anytime soon. The National Weather Service is predicting two separate winter storms that may dump a collection of sleet, ice, and snow or a mixture of all of the above Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday night’s storm is expected to greatly affect El Dorado, AK; Texarkana, TX: and Oxford Mississippi. Other areas near these locations will be affected as well. On Wednesday, the snow woes will be greater for Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. On this day, the mixed precipitation will be more widespread. The biggest problem is different weather models show dissimilar variations of exactly how much snow or sleet will be present and the exact areas that will be impacted. For this reason, many Southerners remain on edge. No one wants a rehash of what occurred last January 2014 when many were forced to sleep in their cars after being trapped on freeways and travel was halted. Some were even trapped at their jobs for 2 days before the roads were innocuous enough to travel. Hopefully, these storms will not have the same impact on the already frozen Southern states.
