Love isn’t always going to make you overjoyed

It isn’t about gifts, sweet treats, or vacations on the water

Love isn’t always about doing what you think should be done

Love isn’t all fairy tales and giggles or just focused on one



Maybe regular love could be all these things

However, let me explain what a mother’s love means to me



The sweet truth of your ways

Guidance, education, and knowing there’s someone there everyday

The shoulder to lean on when no one else is there

The trials that no one else has to bear

A comfort, a feeling, an intuition of sorts

The late nights, the prayers, the protection projected from somewhere remote

The talks, the motivation, and the simple things

The laughter, the sharing, when you didn’t have anything

The reassurance, the deliverance from all dangers unseen



I now know what this special love means

The advice that I didn’t always want to take,

Are the same quotes that I use today

For this reason, I honor and cherish a mother’s love

Because I know my mother and grandmother can be nothing but gifts from above
