Tensions were extremely high in Ferguson on Wednesday after what should have been a calming moment. The police chief in Ferguson resigned like many advised that he should months ago. However, this did not soothe the sleeping giant as presumed and shots rang out at the Ferguson Police Department early this morning just after midnight. Two officers on the scene were shot as a result.
There were only a handful of protesters still stationed outside of the police department when esoteric shots rang from afar on a hill. One of the protesters told the media that his group only focused on peaceful demonstrations, so they had no part of the raging bullets.
Ironically, the two officers shot were not even connected to the Ferguson Police Department. One of the victims was hit in the shoulder and the other in the facial region. Officials confirmed that their injuries were not life threatening. With reforms within this police department looming, more violence may just become a hindrance to progress.
